NOTE:  This special workshop is being designed especially for front-line Directors.  We have room for 50 attendees, so registration is on a first-come, first-served basis for you; after which we will accept registrations for assistant/associate directors to fill the space.

DIRECTORS WORKSHOP FACULTY

Don Campbell

Don Campbell was the Dean of the Director's College at Harmony University in 2019. He is professor of music and director of choral activities at Southern Wesleyan University. Prior to his appointment to SWU in 1998, he taught vocal music for 20 years at Redwood High School in Visalia, California, building the program to 300 students in five choirs. Dr. Campbell received his bachelor of arts degree in music education from California State University, Fullerton; his master of arts degree in choral conducting from California State University, Fresno; and his doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting from Arizona State University. His mentors include David Thorsen, Howard Swan, John Cooksey, Greg Lyne, David Stocker, and many others.

Kim Vaughn

As the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Kim Vaughn is one of the most recognizable women in the barbershop harmony world. She directed the 2001 International Champion San Diego Chorus for 30 years and is a Master Director 700. Kim is a Sound Category Judge and Master Faculty member. She has won the coveted Sweet Adelines International Champion Quartet title three times (1976 with High Society; 1988 with Savvy; 2001 with a cappella Gold) and was the first singer ever to do so. Kim is a vocal teacher and member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy from San Diego State University.
